A good share of the work is smoke alarm compliance for owners and property managers: interconnected photoelectric smoke alarms, safety switch checks between tenancies, and the certificates that have to go with them. We issue and send those rather than waiting to be chased for them, which is usually the difference that matters to an agency.
The rest is the housing itself. The character homes along Oriel Road and the streets running off Sandgate Road are mostly pre-war, mostly renovated at least once, and mostly still carrying a switchboard sized for a very different household. Every photo here is our own work, not a stock library. Alarm installs, safety switch checks and switchboards mid-upgrade. If you manage properties, this is what your tenants see on the day and what the certificate is issued against.

I manage several Clayfield properties. Can you do them together?
Yes, and it’s cheaper that way. We book them as one run, do the alarms and safety switch checks in the same visit per property, and send the certificates back together rather than one at a time.
When does a rental need interconnected smoke alarms?
In Queensland, any domestic dwelling that is sold or leased already needs interconnected photoelectric alarms. From 1 January 2027 it applies to every other domestic dwelling as well. If you’re managing rentals, the deadline that matters to you has already passed. The 2027 date is for owner-occupiers.
Do you provide the compliance paperwork agencies ask for?
Yes. A certificate for every applicable job, sent through on completion, with the licence number on it. If your agency uses a particular form or portal, tell us and we’ll work to it.
